Introduction

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains in general terms how Alban Travels India Pvt Ltd. (hereby referred as "Alban Travels", "Alban India", "we" "our" or "us") protects the privacy of your personal information. We are firmly committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information and maintain robust physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect personal information in our care.



What is personal information?

Personal information is information or an opinion, in any form (whether true or not) about an individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion.



How do we collect personal information?

Where practical we will collect personal information directly from you. Generally this will be collected by us when you deal with us either in person, by telephone, letter, facsimile, email or when you visit our website. We may request information about you when you purchase or make enquires about tickets or other products and services; when you enter competitions, register for promotions or when you request brochures or other information. We may also collect information when we invite you to complete surveys or provide us with feedback.



What personal information do we collect?

Generally, the type of personal information we collect about you is the information that is needed to facilitate your travel arrangements and bookings and to provide travel services and products to you. For example, we may collect details such as your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, passport details, food habits or dietary requirements (if any) and health issues relevant to your travel arrangements. We, however, DO NOT collect financial details like credit card number, expiry date, etc … It is dealt and kept directly in bank records only.

We are required by law to obtain your consent to the collection of sensitive information. We will assume that you have consented to the collection of all information which is provided to us for use in accordance with this Policy, unless you tell us otherwise.



When we act as agent

When we sell products and services to you, we usually do so as agent for the wholesaler or provider of those products and services. This means that we usually collect personal information about you, both for our internal purposes, and on behalf of the parties for whom we act as agent, for their internal purposes. Accordingly, the consent you provide under this statement to the collection of personal information by us, applies equally to the parties whose products and services we sell. For example, if you purchase an Air India flight from us, then under this policy you will have consented to your personal information being used by us, being provided to Air India to enable your flight to be booked and being used by Air India for Air India’s purposes.
We act as agent for many hundreds of companies, so it is not possible for us to set out in this statement exactly how each of these companies will use your personal information, but we are happy to provide more specific information to you if you email your query to us at support@albanindia.in



How do we use personal information?

We will use your personal information to provide you with travel and travel related products and services.
We may use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a related or ancillary purpose such as any one or more of the following purposes:

  • Identification of fraud or error;
  • Regulatory reporting and compliance;
  • Developing, improving and marketing our products and services;
  • Servicing our relationship with you by, among other things, providing updates on promotions and services we think may interest you;
  • Involving you in market research guaging customer satisfaction and seeking feedback regarding our relationship with you;
  • To facilitate your participation in loyalty programs;
  • To analyze trends in sales and travel destinations;
  • For marketing activities; and

Is the information disclosed to third parties?

We may disclose your personal information:


  • as permitted or required by law;
  • to various regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials and agencies to protect against fraud and for related security purposes;
  • to our third party service providers as well as to our related entities ;
  • to third parties such as airlines, hotels, car rental companies and other service providers for the purpose for which the information was collected or for a related purpose, for example to facilitate and process your travel arrangements; and
  • to third parties who may involve you in market research for the purpose of servicing our relationship with you and improving the services we provide.
  • to third parties for the purpose of analyzing trends in sales and travel destinations.

Changes to our Policy

From time to time it may be necessary for us to review and revise this Policy. We reserve the right to change our Policy at any time, should this occur the amendment would be posted on our website.

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. You must not accept any booking unless you understand and agree with the following terms and conditions.



Prices:

All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.



Travel Documents:

Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other document (whether in electronic form or otherwise) used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including (without limitation) being non-refundable, non-date-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. All travel documents are non transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder, some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. It is your responsibility to collect all travel documents from us prior to travel. Please contact your consultant the day before collection to confirm that the travel documents are ready for collection.



Schedule Changes:

It is your responsibility to contact the airline prior to travel to ensure the scheduled departure time has not changed.



Travel Insurance:

We can provide information to you about travel insurance. For details of the services we provide, including a quote, please refer to our e-service section in the website. Travel insurance is strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel.



Passports & Visas:

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility. All travelers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of entry. If you need information regarding visa and other travel document requirements for your trip please let us know. We can obtain such information from an external visa advisory service provider on your behalf. We do not warrant the accuracy of such information and accept no liability for any loss or damage, which you may suffer in reliance on it. We can obtain visas for you if you wish and fees may apply for this service.



Carry-on Baggage at International Airports:

To increase your safety, there are new rules for taking liquids, aerosols and gels on flights worldwide. These new rules are needed to protect you from the threat of liquid explosives, so please ensure you check with the visiting country embassy / airline office prior to your travel.



Health:

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations and to ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation.



Taxes:

Certain taxes are mandatory in various countries. There may also be an additional local tax charged at some airports. All taxes are subject to change without notice.



Cancellation Fees:

We are unable to provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from the relevant supplier. Cancelled bookings will incur charges. These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Fees will also apply where a booking is changed or tickets are reissued.



Liability:

We do not accept any liability of whatever nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers over whom we have no direct control. Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.



Credit Card Transactions:

Credit card surcharges may apply when paying by credit card. If for any reason any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against that provider, and not against us. In the event that payment has been made to us by credit card, you agree that you will not seek to charge back your payment to Alban Travels India Pvt Ltd.
